How to improve the Canadian immigration system – Dionis Padron

There is no doubt that for further development, Canada must improve its productivity and innovation since the country lags behind most other industrialized nations in these two parameters.

The government has not realized that Canada is sitting on a gold mine when it comes to its immigrant population since the majority of immigrants who come to Canada bring with them higher levels of education and experience. But many of these workers with international education and experience have not been able to transfer his talents in the Canadian context.

Canada has a population that is growing old and declining birth rate, thus leading to Canada to rely more and more immigration to increase and develop their workforce and to meet the challenges that modern economy. Immigrants who come to Canada have many skills and abilities that can become a major source of innovation and productivity in a modern economy such as Canada.

Their immigrants are selected on a points based on education, language skills and work experience are indicative of their ability to integrate into Canadian society and in the labor market system. However, many of these immigrants cannot find a job where I can practice their skills.
These calls into question the effectiveness of Canadian immigration policies and the recognition of foreign qualifications have. These titles can become successful to meet the labor market needs of the present and future needs.

This brings me to a key to why if immigrants arrive with high levels of education and with many skills, they have not gotten a better labor market performance question.
Therefore, the federal and provincial governments to address the social and economic integration of newcomers to Canada in order to fully benefit from the talents they bring. The Canadian government should expand the certification program by creating new channels for interaction. This will result in the accreditation of credentials of foreign workers are faster which will allow immigrants to offer their knowledge faster and feel completely useful. Moreover, the government should also focus on services that facilitate the integration of immigrants in the workforce. These policy changes are very important for immigrants and for the same country and that Canada cannot afford to waste so much human capital.
